As the Xbox Games Store confirms, Mass Effect Andromeda will have multiplayer micro-transactions that range from $5 Dollars to $100 USD and give you 500 to 12,000 Andromeda Points. This has lead to some concern, as well many gif files showing running, walking, smiling, and speaking animations have been rather rough.

The game is now available to EA Access subscribers in a special 10-hour trial, and unfortunately, the characters still look like androids pretending to be humans.

Last week, Nvidia released a set of Mass Effect: Andromeda screenshots in 4K, and today, you can have a look at a tech video of the game shot in 4K HDR. No, that ship has sailed. Frazier responded, "At day 1?" Unfortunately, the facial animations we've seen thus far are off-putting at best and downright disturbing at worst, and it's unclear if the studio will be improving them through future updates. You can tackle them personally as multiplayer games, or you can send a strike team to try and get it done over a variable chunk of real time, much like War Table operations in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

A follow-up to 2012's Mass Effect 3, Andromeda starts a new story as humanity and the Milky Way galaxy's other inhabitants explore the Andromeda galaxy for a new place to call home.

Mass Effect Andromeda is due out in North America on March 21 - that's four days from now! - and the rest of the world two days later, on March 23, on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. These links leave Siliconera.
