A root method for the Snapdragon (US) variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has now been provided thanks to team from the XDA Developers forums. The technology basically relies on OLED panel in order to secure the sensor while just not only by allocating its usage but also supporting it with a light source at the same time.

The latest Apple's phone iPhone X has reportedly dropped out from this new feature due to production issues and the deadline has approached.

There is no information available on whether the under-display fingerprint scanner will be arriving on the Galaxy S9 and S9+.

Such a feature is likely, he adds, because two of the three main companies competing for the contract to make displays for Samsung's next Note series handset have already shipped sample parts to the South Korean chaebol. The technology will be displayed in fingerprint scanner of Samsung Note 9 phone next summer.

Nonetheless, considering Samsung's smartphones typically hit the shelves ahead of Apple's devices, there's a possibility that Samsung will introduce its new technology next year before Apple does. A few users have already reported that they did not receive their text messages and it looks like it is affecting both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 +. However, this unique feature could be seen in the upcoming Galaxy Note 9, if reports are anything to go by. Although Samsung also uses facial recognition using the eyes, it is still not a solid enough feature and can be easily fooled and a lot of people are not really keen on Apple's Face ID.
